WIDE ANGLE
Making of the "Wide Angle" Logo: Thought by thought
The logo designed for the magazine 'Wide Angle' is an artistic representation of the name as well as its theme. The logo can be disassembled into four parts. The two half-arrows on either side along with the sharp Caret represent the first word 'W' of the name 'Wide Angle'. The Caret itself represents the first letter of the second word of the magazine 'Angle'.
The caret along with the half-crescent shape represents the literal usage of the word 'Angle' in geometry. The two half arrows on either side also represent the meaning of the word 'Wide' as the distance in the middle has been intentionally made wide to give the feeling of width. The color of the logo has been kept blue to complement the overall theme of the website.
The dialogue cloud and the camera shutter represent the content-wise theme of this web-magazine. The magazine acts like a mouth-piece for the students and therefore the dialogue cloud shows this aspect of the site.
The camera shutter is a representation of all the images, artwork submitted by different contributors. Also, the positioning of the camera shutter is not random. The round-shaped camera shutter is positioned at the top right of the Caret symbol. This has been done to show the unit 'degree ( °)' to represent an angle in geometry.
Altogether, the logo sums up the name and the essence of the magazine.
